In a shocking turn of events, 28-year-old Romeo Rusare found himself on the wrong side of the law after allegedly swiping clothes from his neighbor’s washing line. Yes, you read that right – clothes! Because who doesn’t love a good pair of track bottoms, am I right?
The drama unfolded on June 5, 2025, when Wilson Milazi, Rusare’s neighbor, left his laundry outside to dry. By morning, the clothes had vanished into thin air, leaving Milazi to wonder if the wind had decided to take a liking to his wardrobe. Little did he know, Rusare had developed a taste for his clothes and decided to rock the brown track bottoms like they were the latest fashion trend.
Rusare was caught red-handed – or rather, red-bottomed – wearing one of the stolen track pants near the Salvation Army Church. Milazi promptly notified the police, and Rusare was arrested. A whopping US$15 worth of the stolen goods was recovered, leaving authorities to wonder if Rusare had a yard sale or what?
Rusare pleaded guilty to one count of theft and was handed an eight-month prison sentence. However, four months were magically suspended, leaving him with a cool four months behind bars. On top of that, he’ll have to cough up US$70 in restitution to Milazi by June 27, 2025. Guess Rusare won’t be buying any new clothes anytime soon!
