A brazen carjacking incident occurred in Bulawayo on June 19, leaving the victim shaken. Three armed robbers approached a 53-year-old man parked outside his Tshisanyama restaurant and hijacked his black Mercedes Benz at gunpoint.
According to police, the robbers pointed a firearm at the victim and ordered him to be quiet before speeding off along Plumtree Road with the victim in the back seat. During the ride, the robbers searched the victim and stole US$100 and a Samsung S05 cellphone. They later dumped the victim in Newton West and drove off with the car.
In a surprising turn of events, the vehicle was recovered three days later in a bushy area of Pumula South. The car had suffered damage, with a flat tire and no battery.
The police are investigating the incident and appealing for information. Anyone with details that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is urged to come forward. The authorities emphasize the importance of public assistance in bringing these dangerous criminals to justice.
