A dramatic paternity dispute has erupted in Matazwe Village under Chief Marange, where Lovemore Gore, a polygamous man with 20 children, is demanding a DNA test for a baby he claims is not his. Gore alleges that the child was conceived during his year-long absence from home, and he’s determined to get to the bottom of the scandal.
Gore claims he left for Harare on November 14, 2023, and returned exactly a year later. During his absence, his second wife, Emilia Nemaramba, informed him that she was pregnant. When the child was born in November, Gore’s suspicions were confirmed, and he began questioning the child’s paternity.
Gore accuses village court clerk Gwinyai Karushanga of having an affair with Nemaramba, citing an incident in 2018 when he caught them together. Karushanga denies the allegations, while Nemaramba maintains that the child is indeed Gore’s.
The traditional court, presided over by Village Head Rizwe Matazwa, rejected Gore’s attempt to issue a divorce token to Nemaramba, stating that the separation process must involve the woman’s family to be valid. Matazwa also criticized Gore’s track record as a husband, accusing him of neglecting his marital responsibilities.
In a shocking revelation, Matazwa admitted to physically assaulting Gore after he allegedly forged a letter to Nemaramba’s family formalizing their divorce. Gore’s first wife, Loveness Karushanga, who is also Karushanga’s aunt, confirmed the alleged affair, saying it was no secret in the village.
With tensions rising and the truth hanging in the balance, all eyes are on the DNA test. Will it confirm Gore’s suspicions, or will it prove him wrong? The outcome will have significant implications for Gore’s family and the community.
