A woman from Harare has taken legal action by seeking a peace order against a man she accuses of impregnating her daughter, who is in Form 1 (first year of secondary school).
Susan Kamanura alleges that Owen Muzondo has been disrupting her peace through his disorderly behavior. She claims that he frequently visits her house in the evenings, causing a disturbance. Moreover, Susan expresses her distress over Owen’s actions at church, where he allegedly spreads rumors that her daughter is involved in prostitution, using vulgar language to describe her.
During the court proceedings, Owen did not contest the application. However, he mentioned that Susan had previously reported him for rape. Owen clarifies that he is currently out on bail, and interestingly, the daughter Susan claims he impregnated has told him that the child was not his.
In response to the situation, Magistrate Mandlenkosi Ndlovu granted the peace order and issued a warning to Owen. He instructed Owen to refrain from visiting Susan’s house, stating that failure to comply would result in his arrest.
