A Harare woman applied for a protection order against her boyfriend, saying he verbally and physically abuses her.
Olivia Munemo told the Harare Civil Court that her boyfriend, Kudzanai Tigere, abuses and threatens to kill her.
She said the two have a child together, but she wants him evicted from her parents’ house in Matapi where they stay.
“He never paid lobola and I don’t want him near my parents’ house in Matapi because he verbally and physically abuses me.
“Even if he asks for forgiveness, I will never forgive him because he threatened to kill me,” said Olivia. She also said she had other children who look up to her.
Kudzanai did not dispute the accusations, and asked for forgiveness for his wrongdoings.
“I know I erred, and I am sorry for that. I still love you. If you evict me, I will be homeless as I don’t have anywhere to go,” he pleaded with Olivia. Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Olivia the protection order and ordered Kudzanai not to go to Olivia’s parents’ house or to threaten her.
