FOUR dogs feasted on Tapiwa Makore Junior’s mutilated body after he was murdered by Tafadzwa Shamba and Tapiwa Makore Senior in Murehwa three years ago.
All the dogs, which devoured the young boy’s body parts in the Nyamutumbu area, have DIED.
Joseph Nyambuwa (32), one of the villagers who came across Tapiwa Jr’s mutilated hands and legs, confirmed the incident.
“I am the first person to come across the four greyhounds from this community feasting on the boy’s legs and hands,” he told our sister newspaper Kwayedza.
“Three of the dogs died one after the other
“The other one, from the Murwira family, which was found dragging the boy’s corpse, died later,” said Nyambuwa.
He said village elders do not allow people to keep dogs which would have tasted human flesh.
However, all these four dogs were not killed by their owners or members of the community but appear to have died in mysterious circumstances.
Nyambuwa said it will take him ages to forget the horrific incidents.
“We won’t forget this story. I come from Nyanga in Manicaland, I had never witnessed anythinglike this in my life.”
Village elder, Summer Murwira (81) whose dog came home dragging Tapiwa Jr’s torso, was still in shock.
“It is my dog, which came home dragging Tapiwa Junior’s torso.
“The dog died, leaving two puppies. We won’t forget this story as a family.
“We are only relieved that Tafadzwa Shamba and Tapiwa Makore Snr were sentenced to death.
“Dai pane zvimwe zvaidarika kuuraiwa kwavo taitozvida zvakare,” said Murwira.
