High-Living Serial Fraudster Finally Arrested After Returning To Zimbabwe For Father’s Funeral
Bresley Mutungamiri Hove, a 36-year-old man accused of perpetrating a series of frauds, was arrested in Zimbabwe after returning for his father’s funeral. The alleged scam artist was first nabbed on July 17 but was surprisingly released on bail. However, his taste of freedom was short-lived, as he found himself behind bars again on fresh charges. Hove’s release on bail, for the second time, came with strict conditions.
Fraud and Theft Charges Galore
Zimlive reports that the Harare Magistrates Court revealed that Hove, who is involved in the LPG gas industry, was tasked by Danmore Mambondiani from Liquid Cargo to import a mobile gas tank worth US$65,000 from Turkey. Despite receiving the funds, Hove reportedly failed to deliver the promised tank by the specified date. To conceal his actions, Hove allegedly presented fraudulent documents to deceive Mambondiani.
In another case of theft, Hove, as the director of Alphas Gas, was entrusted with an LPG transport tanker worth US$100,000 by Chabvonga Ronald Musiiwa. Later, it was discovered that the tanker had gone missing, and an agreement of sale with Danmore Mambondiani was found, indicating Hove’s involvement in the sale.

Elusive Accomplice Still at Large
The net of investigation also extends to a second suspect, John Henry Gould, described as “still at large,” sought in connection with the tanker theft. Authorities are actively searching for Gould to bring him to justice.
Bail Conditions and Further Charges
Despite facing serious charges, prosecutors surprisingly did not oppose bail for Hove. However, he was required to abide by stringent conditions, including staying at the same residence, reporting to the police three times a week, surrendering his passport, and refraining from interfering with witnesses. Nevertheless, investigators are diligently preparing additional charges against Hove, indicating the complexity of the case.
A Lavish Lifestyle Revealed
During the court proceedings, Hove’s wife, a TV producer, caught attention by arriving in a luxurious white Mercedes Benz G-Wagon adorned with South African number plates. The G-Wagon’s market value of R3 million (about US$166,000) has raised questions about the source of the couple’s wealth.
The arrest of Bresley Mutungamiri Hove, the alleged fraudster, has shed light on a web of deceit and financial misdeeds that have reportedly caused significant losses to victims. As investigators dig deeper into the case, more shocking revelations may come to the surface, underscoring the importance of raising awareness about such fraudulent activities in society.
