“My opponent & I have agreed we MUST heed HE President Emerson Mnangagwa’s call for a violence-free election. Let’s win hearts and minds only. NO to intimidation, NO to violence! @Varakashi4ED @Nyangasouth,” Mandiwanzira wrote in his tweet.

“This is great let it be the battle of ideas, all the best in the elections.”

“Well done. No to intimidation of villagers, no abuse of traditional leaders. We don’t want to see any assisted voters. During ZANU PF primary elections, none was assisted to vote.”

“Great and tell all @ZANUPF_Official aligned sabhukus not to coerce people through feigning blindness and illiteracy to enable Zanupf activists or sabhuku to assist mbuya in the ballot box using covert violence and blackmail.”

“That’s the Zimbabwe we want. Well done Supa that’s superb.”
Makukula:
“Supplements, you have earned my respect. Whatever happens after elections, you are an exemplary leader.”
Supa Mandiwanzira has been representing Nyanga South since 2013, while McCormick is a newcomer to politics. She is a former journalist and human rights activist who joined the CCC in 2022.
Zimbabwe will hold its next general election on 23 August, with 12 presidential candidates and hundreds of parliamentary and local government contenders. The main contest is expected to be between President Mnangagwa of Zanu-PF and Nelson Chamisa of CCC.
