Ntabiseng Nhlapo, the abusive mother who trended last week over a video in which she was severely thrashing her child, has reportedly taken her own life.
Ntabiseng Nhlapo caused an uproar online last week after a video of her ruthlessly kicking, strangling, and stomping her toddler went viral. She was subsequently arrested over the assault.
The cruel mother allegedly physically abused her child to irk and get back at her baby daddy. Her one-year-old child was also taken from her custody after her arrest, as the baby daddy reported the matter to Norwood Police Station in Johannesburg.
The Gauteng social development department intervened over the grim incident. The department took the traumatised child and placed him in the care of the provincial social development department.
In collaboration with a non-profit organization, the department arranged for the child to be taken to a safe environment where he would receive the necessary support and care.
Following public fury and her subsequent arrest, Ntabiseng has reportedly taken her own life. One Facebook user, Dyke Dee Katleho Mekgoe, first shared the news in a post that was later taken down by Facebook over a community guidelines violation.
It is unclear why the cruel mother decided to end her life or if she left any note before making the ultimately tragic decision.
Social media users expressed mixed emotions as the “mother from hell”, Ntabiseng Nhlapo, committed suicide.
