A devastating accident on the road from Zvishavane to Harare has left a family of four de@d, including a father, his two children, and his brother’s child. The tragedy unfolded when the Toyota Wish they were traveling in swerved off the road at Boterekwa escarpments in Shurugwi, Midlands province, and collided with a tree, resulting in immediate fatalities.
According to sources, the driver of the vehicle, who survived the accident, was reportedly speeding at the time of the incident. The vehicle, carrying eight passengers in total, veered off the road at a notorious black spot known locally as “the Butcher.” Those injured in the accident were swiftly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Amidst the sorrow and shock caused by the accident, questions arise about its root cause. While acknowledging the poor condition of the road, there is a call for a thorough investigation into factors such as speeding and drunk driving, which could have contributed to the tragedy. Midlands Police Spokesperson, Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the accident, which occurred around 6 p.m. The victims of the tragic accident have been identified as Tinashe Mapholisa, Thabani Mapholisa, Shalom Mapholisa, and their father, Trymore Mapholisa (47).
