The funeral of veteran actress Susan Chenjerai, popularly known as Mai Rwizi, is scheduled for today at Warren Hills Cemetery at 1400hrs.
Chenjerai passed away last Friday at the age of 83 after a brief illness.
Mai Rwizi was a talented actress and musician who brought joy to many through her iconic character in the drama series Mhuri yaVaMukadota.
She was a member of the renowned Mukadota Family on Zimbabwe Television (ZTV), alongside the late Safirio Madzikatire.
Born in Mbare, Chenjerai began her career in 1951 with the Bantu Actors and later joined the Marandellas Bush Babies in 1958.

She also performed with the Wagon Wheels band, where she met Oliver Mtukudzi, and worked with the late Jordan Chataika.
Chenjerai’s impressive career spanned over five decades, earning her three awards: the Zimbabwe Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award, The Silver Jubilee Award, and the NAMA Legend Award.
At the time of her passing, she was a pastor at New Gospel Church of God and is survived by five children, over 30 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
