SADC Chairperson João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of Angola, has arrived in Harare for the 44th SADC Summit,.
He is accompanied by his wife, Ana Afonso Dias Lourenço.
Nick Mangwana, Permanent Secretary of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, confirmed their arrival on his social media X account.
“His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola together with his wife, H.E Ana Afonso Dias Lourenço are now in Harare for the 44th SADC Summit,” Mangwana said.
H.E President Lourenço is the outgoing Chairperson of SADC and he will handover the Chairmanship to His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, at the Summit set for this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Namibian President, His Excellency Dr. Nangolo Mbumba paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House this afternoon.
H.E President Mbumba affirmed Namibia’s full support for Zimbabwe as the country takes over the Chairmanship of the regional bloc.
