The Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa was quoted saying it is important newly commissioned members of the uniformed forces to fully understand the country’s values and national ethos given that they are the future military leaders.
On Friday,the 39th commemoration parade of the regular officer cadets was held at the Zimbabwe Military Academy in Gweru.
He further elaborated during the graduation of 182 officer cadets that it is important for these men and women to understand the values of the nation as this will ensure they can safeguard them.
It is pleasing that the Zimbabwe military academy continues to facilitate visits by cadets to liberation war shrines, with this group having toured Chimoio in Mozambique and freedom camp in Zambia, as well as the Kamungoma battle site in Gutu. In like with the ongoing recognition and memorialization of historic aspects of our liberation war heritage.
