A royal blue Isuzu double cab belonging to former cabinet minister and Mashonaland West senator Prisca Mupfumira was stolen at gunpoint in Harare’s Avondale West.
ZimLive has it that the incident took place on December 11.
The vehicle, registered under AGA 6969 and valued at US$70,000, was being driven by Mupfumira’s driver, Edmore Mashasha, who had been sent to collect church uniforms from tailors on Ascot Road around 7 AM.

While waiting at the gate, Mashasha was confronted by armed men wielding pistols.
According to police reports, the suspects threatened him at gunpoint, ordering him to vacate the driver’s seat. As he complied, one of the assailants took control of the vehicle while the other blindfolded Mashasha, tied his hands, and forced him into the back seat.
The assailants then sped off with the vehicle, later abandoning Mashasha at an unknown location along Mutoko Road. A
fter managing to free himself, Mashasha sought assistance from a passerby who provided him with a phone, allowing him to alert Mupfumira and notify the police.
The incident has been reported to the CID Vehicle Theft Squad, which is currently investigating the theft of Mupfumira’s vehicle.
