In an unbelievable twist of fate, a Ugandan man, also Arsenal fan has reportedly taken Chelsea win a little too seriously.
Sam Makuli, 29, is making headlines after he reportedly took a plunge from a multi-storey apartment block in Kampala, and it seems Chelsea’s latest win over Barrow was the final straw.
Sam had placed a bet predicting Chelsea would lose.
However, the Blues had other plans.

As the 2024/25 season kicked off, they charged out of the gate with four wins from their first seven matches.
Then came the 5-0 thumping of League Two side Barrow, which must have left him feeling like a parrot with a broken wing.
The match itself was quite the spectacle! Christopher Nkunku dazzled fans by scoring a hat-trick, proving that he might just have a future in goal-scoring instead of, say, knitting.
Meanwhile, Pedro Neto celebrated his first goal for the club, and Joao Felix’s free-kick was so sharp it could have sliced through the air—and apparently through Sam’s hopes for a big payday.
It’s worth noting that last season, Chelsea made it to the final of this competition under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
This time, though, they’re back with a bang, leaving some fans cheering while others… well, let’s just say they might need to rethink their betting strategies.
In the end, let’s remember: football is a game of highs and lows, but it’s all in good fun—unless, of course, you take it as seriously as Sam did.
So, here’s a tip for all the passionate fans out there: maybe stick to cheering from the couch, and leave the life-or-d3ath drama for the movies!
