Talented musician Baba Harare expressed his hopes for Zimbabwe’s economic recovery, envisioning a future where everyone can afford a car rather than relying on free handouts.
In a recent interview on DJ Ollah 7’s podcast, Baba Harare emphasised his commitment to hard work, stating that he would decline a free car if offered one.
“On DJ Ollah 7’s podcast, i was discussing the issue of gifts, whilst its a brilliant idea to be gifted a car, i pray for an economic recovery and prosperity so that everyone can afford a car,” he noted.
Baba Harare’s stance contrasts with that of many musicians who have sought financial assistance and vehicles from businessman Wicknell Chivayo. Chivayo has become known for gifting new cars and money to local musicians, particularly those who support the ruling party.
Baba Harare stressed the importance of self-reliance and the dignity that comes from earning one’s possessions through hard work, rather than accepting charity. His perspective highlights a desire for sustainable economic improvement in Zimbabwe, where individuals can achieve financial independence and success.
