Bulawayo City Council (BCC) urges residents with unsettled bills to either settle their accounts promptly or arrange payment plans to prevent legal actions.
The council is alarmed by the increasing debts, which hamper its ability to deliver essential services like sewerage, water, and road maintenance to the city’s inhabitants.
To recover the outstanding US$50 million owed by ratepayers, BCC has enlisted the help of debt collectors and initiated legal proceedings against defaulters.
Residents facing financial challenges are advised to contact BCC directly to discuss their situation and establish suitable payment arrangements if full settlement is not feasible.
