In a tragic and troubling incident, a Bindura-based sexagenarian named Sineki Paulos was brutally bashed to d3ath by a man he referred to as a Mushurugwi at Foothill farm.
The alleged assailant, 30-year-old Innocent Washafi, who hails from Mbare, confronted Paulos during a personal dispute that erupted at a local tuckshop.
Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson, Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha, confirmed the occurrence of this murder case, revealing that the violent encounter stemmed from an argument over Washafi’s place of origin.
According to Chikasha, Paulos confronted Washafi, recalling a previous meeting, and accused him of being an outsider who should be driven away from the farm.
This altercation escalated quickly, leading Washafi to ass@ult Paulos with open hands, leaving him lifeless on the ground. Tragically, despite efforts to revive him, Paulos was pronounced de@d upon arrival at Bindura Hospital.
In light of this incident, the police are urging community members to refrain from resorting to violence, especially under the influence of alcohol.
