The struggling Borussia Dortmund has signed the former Wolfsburg manager, Nico Kovać as the replacement of Nuri Sahin who sacked last week following after their Champions League loss at Bologna was a disappointing fourth successive defeat.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newsreportzim.com has learned that the Croatian football manager, Nico Kovać, 53 has signed a one and a half year contract valid until June 2026.
“Nico Kovać has signed in as new Borussia Dortmund head coach until June 2026.
“Contract signed and then club announcement to follow today, as Lars Ricken confirmed,” Romao confirmed.
Former Croatia international Kovac has also had coaching spells at Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich and Monaco since managing his country between 2013-2015. Dortmund are 11th in the German top-flight with seven wins from their 19 league games this season.
Meanwhile, in France’s top-flight, Rennes have decided to sack the manager Jorge Sampaoli. The decision is confirmed and will be made official soon, as L’Équipé reported.
Rennes are 16th in the France top-flight with only five wins from their 19 league games this season just two points away from relagation zone.
