zimbabwe Premier Soccer league giant, Highlanders “Bosso” Football club are currently in advanced talks with their long-serving captain, Ariel Sibanda, regarding the extension of his contract, which is set to expire on December 31.
Earlier this year, the captain hinted that the current season could be his last in professional football, leading to speculation about his future. Highlanders seeks to retain the services of the veteran goalkeeper, despite the departure of goalkeepers coach Daniel Khumalo, whose contract will not be renewed at the end of this year.
Ariel Sibanda (34) has attracted the attention of several clubs, including Premier League newcomers Scottland of Harare, who are reportedly in the market for experienced players.
Sibanda has been an integral part of the Highlanders team for over 15 years, having made his debut for the senior team in 2009 after the departure of then-first-choice goalkeeper Washington Arubi. Since then, Sibanda has worn the number one jersey with distinction, becoming one of the most respected goalkeepers in Zimbabwean football.
