A Zimbabwean man named Anesu Hwenjere, 27, has appeared in court in Botswana charged with the gruesome murd3r of his cousin, Victor Mashinge. Hwenjere is accused of k!lling Mashinge and mut!lating his body, including severing his private parts.
The h0rrific cr!me allegedly took place between January 5 and 8 at their shared residence in Gotshielo ward, Ramotswa.
Authorities revealed that Hwenjere reportedly struck his cousin with a heavy object, believed to be a rock, before decapitating him and dismembering his body.
While the head and one hand have been recovered, Mashinge’s priv@te parts remain missing.
The murd3r came to light when Mashinge failed to appear at work for three consecutive days, prompting concern from a friend who visited their home. Hwenjere reportedly misled the friend, claiming they were both searching for Mashinge.

However, the friend noticed a disturbing swarm of flies near the pit latrine, leading him to investigate further and subsequently alert authorities.
Upon discovering the situation, Hwenjere fled the scene but was later apprehended by police.
During his initial court appearance on January 13 at the Extension II Magistrates Court, the chilling details of the murd3r emerged.
Investigating officer Oreneetse Ditshego urged the court to keep Hwenjere in custody, citing the severity of the cr!me and the fear it has instilled in the community.
Ditshego expressed concerns that Hwenjere might attempt to escape, as he had already shown signs of fleeing.
“The accused not only beheaded the victim, but also mut!lated his body in ways that have left the community in fear and anger,” Ditshego stated, emphasizing the gravity of the case.
He confirmed that forensic evidence is currently being analyzed and that postmortem results are pending, with witnesses receiving trauma counseling.
Hwenjere has been remanded in custody until February 28 and chose to remain silent when asked if he had any statement to make.
