Tragedy struck in Soweto when an 11-year-old boy accidentally sh0t himself with his father’s st0len firearm, resulting in his de@th.
The incident occurred on a Tuesday morning at around 11:30 am at the family’s home in Emndeni.
According to reports, the boy had been playing with his friends outside when he went inside to retrieve the g_n, which he then showed off to his friends through a window.
Moments later, the firearm went off, and the friends ran away unh@rmed. Police were only called to the scene several hours later, at around 2 pm, and found that the scene had been tampered with.
The father, who was not present at the time of the incident, had removed the firearm and cartridges. He has since been arrested and charged with culpable homicide and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The community is still reeling from the shock, and the witnesses to the tragedy are struggling to come to terms with what they saw.

One of the grandfather’s of the witnesses said that his grandson has been traumatised by the event and has had to be taken to a relative’s home for a few days to cope.
The police investigation is ongoing, and the father is expected to appear in court soon. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of unsecured firearms and the devastating consequences of their misuse.
