In an unexpected turn of events, Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi was admitted to a hospital on Monday morning.
Throwing some light on the situation, spokesperson Thabo Mokgola spilled the beans, revealing that Motsoaledi was admitted to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria.
At present, the specific details regarding the nature of Motsoaledi’s illness are being kept under wraps Additionally, we are also in the dark about how long Aaron Motsoaledi will stay in hospital.
Thabo Mokgola mentioned that Aaron Motsoaledi will be taking a break and will not be available for a while.
“The Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has today, 11 December 2023, been admitted to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital for a medical procedure. The Minister may be unavailable for a while,” the statement reads.
Over the years, Aaron Mostoaledi has been in and out of the hospital for several issues. In August 2015, Motsoaledi was admitted to the same medical facility. He was treated for pneumonia.
In 2017, Aaron Motsoaledi went to the same hospital for a check-up following a successful planned surgical procedure in August 2013.
Motsoaledi has garnered praise for leading by example when it comes to healthcare decisions. Notably, when he went under the knife in 2013, he opted for a government hospital, and he maintained the same standard for his family, as he stood firm against sending his daughter to a private hospital to have her molars removed.
