Manchester City’s 23-year-old midfielder, Phil Foden, has been named the Premier League Player of the Season.
Foden has contributed significantly to his team’s success, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists this season.
The award was determined through a combination of public votes and selections by football experts.
“To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of,” Foden said.
He expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, coach, and club staff who played a vital role in his success.
Upon receiving the award, Foden remarked, “I’d like to thank all of the City staff, coaches, and especially my teammates, because without them this wouldn’t be possible. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for me; the award means a lot.”
In addition to Foden’s accolade, former Manchester City star Cole Palmer has been awarded the Premier League Young Player of the Year after a remarkable season with Chelsea.
The 22-year-old Palmer, who has either scored or assisted in 32 goals this season, led a shortlist of eight standout players.
This list included Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, and Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.
