In a disturbing turn of events, a 29-year-old man from Montgomery in Bulawayo, Andiseni Andile Ncube, is currently facing allegations of theft and repeated threats towards his family members.
The accused’s violent behaviour has reportedly left his 73-year-old father, Jonathan Inane Ncube, fearing for his own safety.
The unsettling details emerged during Andiseni’s appearance before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube. While the accused admitted to stealing six bags of fertilizer, he vehemently denied the other charges levelled against him.
Reports suggest that Andiseni has been implicated in various thefts, including the pilfering of six bags of fertilizers, a car battery, four radio speakers, a bag of sugar beans, and a set of spanners. These stolen items were allegedly taken from their family home, causing distress and turmoil within the household.
Jonathan Inane Ncube, who is 73 years old and battling illness, expressed deep concern over his son’s increasingly volatile behaviour. The elderly father revealed that Andiseni had become verbally and physically abusive towards him, going as far as threatening him with an axe.
“I no longer want him to stay with me because he is very abusive towards me, he once threatened to cut me and my other children using an axe,” shared Khulu Jonathan Ncube, his voice laden with distress.
The plea for safety and peace within his own home by Khulu Jonathan Ncube is heart-wrenching, highlighting the desperate need for intervention in this troubling situation. Concerns have been raised that Andiseni’s erratic conduct may be linked to drug abuse, which is believed to contribute to his aggressive actions and volatile temperament.
