Businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, has addressed the concerns of Mai Morgan, the widow of the late sungura legend Leonard Dembo, after she expressed feelings of abandonment by the world in a heartfelt statement.
Chivayo took to X to share his thoughts, posting: “Zvinongonzi Sir Wicky munogara muchiposta muchi ridza murume wangu ndokumbirawo ndioneiwo ne ka Fortuner please 🤣🤣🚙🚙,” which translates to a humorous request for help while referencing her late husband.

This comes after Eunice Dembo revealed her deep sorrow over feeling neglected since Leonard’s death nearly 30 years ago in a poignant letter as reported by H Metro.
She highlighted her deteriorating health, reliance on a wheelchair, and increasing medical bills, stating that she feels abandoned by the public and music industry that benefitted from her husband’s talent.
Eunice lamented the lack of support, especially given their financial difficulties and outstanding council bills.
Despite expressing gratitude for recent honors, such as a posthumous award given to Leonard at the Zimbabwe Community Trailblazers Awards, Eunice desires meaningful recognition of her husband’s legacy, beyond accolades.
She remains hopeful, acknowledging support from individuals like Doctor Johannes Marisa, while her son Morgan affirmed their commitment to upholding Leonard’s legacy as a beloved artist.
