In a tragic incident in Old Lobengula, Bulawayo, a 47-year-old man named Nqobile Sibanda took his own life after discovering his wife in a compromising situation with another man.
The harrowing event unfolded when Sibanda returned home from work on November 4 and confronted his wife, which escalated into a heated argument.
Emotionally devastated, he left home early the next morning, only to be later found hanging from a tree near Nyamande Primary School.
Police confirmed that the conflict stemmed from Sibanda’s discovery of his wife’s infidelity and a sh0cking revelation that he was not the biological father of their five-month-old child.
A close resident recounted that the argument had been intense, with Sibanda expressing his intentions to take rat poison or hang himself if his despair didn’t end.
Earlier that night, he had also reached out to his brother, asking him to care for his biological child.
Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele underscored the importance of mental health awareness, urging individuals facing similar distress to seek support from trusted friends, family members, or community resources.
