A 35-Years-Old man from Cowdray Park in Bulawayo has been slapped with an effective 20 years in prison after he threatened a 13-year-old minor with a knife before sod0mising him.
The man, whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the v!ctim, was arrested and charged with aggravated indecent ass@ult, which is a serious crime under the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
The court heard that on February 15, this year, the accused lured the 13-year-old minor to his house under false pretences and then thre@tened him with a knife before s3xually ass@ulting him.
The court heard that the v!ctim was left with severe injur!es and was rushed to hospital where he received medical attention.
In other unrelated news, A robber, Isaac Pomerai Chamisa, 34, from Masvingo Province was last week sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for four counts of r0bbery.
Chamisa was arrested in December last year after he was found in possession of st0len goods worth thousands of dollars.
The court heard that Chamisa’s modus operandi was to gain entry into houses by breaking doors or windows and then hide in cupboards or under beds until it was safe to ste@l.
Chamisa pleaded guilty to all four counts of r0bbery when he appeared before Regional Magistrate Mrs Sekesai Makoni.
Mrs Makoni slammed Chamisa for his crimes and said that he had put many lives at risk by committing armed r0bberies.
