CAPS United’s technical director and assistant coach, Nelson Matongorere, has p@ssed away.
Matongorere di3d due to complications from a stroke just before CAPS United’s scheduled game last month.
Sources indicate that he was hospitalised at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare, where he was under medical observation until his passing last night.
He was renowned as a legendary coach who dedicated himself to the advancement of women’s football during the 1990s and played a significant role in the development of junior football.
Furthermore, Matongorere served as the ZIFA Technical Director in 2011 and collaborated with then Warriors coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels for a Mighty Warriors training camp in Germany.
