A Chegutu businessman who had been reported missing for five days was discovered hanging from a tree near his farm.
The body of 60-year-old Alfred Mufudzi Gamanya was found on Saturday at his Kilmorac Farm, raising suspicions of su!c!de.
Gamanya, the owner of a local nightclub, had vanished from his farm following police inquiries regarding allegations of purchasing stolen cattle.
Acting Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Effort Chapoto, shared details of the case, explaining that Gamanya had received calls from the police just prior to his disappearance.
A missing person report was filed with the police on February 3, leading to a search that initially yielded no results.

It wasn’t until midday on Saturday, when Learnmore Mugona, a 32-year-old worker at Kilmorac Farm, was herding cattle, that he stumbled upon the grim scene.
He immediately informed farm manager Mercy Mupararwa, also 32, who, along with other relatives, confirmed that the body was indeed Gamanya.
Upon arriving at the scene, police noted that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. Investigations are currently ongoing, as authorities seek to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Assistant Inspector Chapoto took the opportunity to caution the public against engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing that law enforcement will ultimately track down those who evade justice.
He further advised individuals not to flee when police inquiries are made against them.
