Chidimma Adetshina believes that her identity dilemma had a negative impact on her and that she wept herself to sleep many nights.
As the inquiry into Chidimma Adetshina’s mother’s suspected identity fraud proceeds, the former Miss South Africa contestant has spoken out about the harm it caused.
According to the Daily Post, Chichi discussed the negative aspects of her identity issue and how she dealt with them:
“It has been a long journey, hard at times. I would cry myself to sleep, asking, ‘Why me?’. I had to shift my perspective to see potential greatness emerging from these challenges.”
Chidimma moved to the top of the most-voted-for contenders after joining Miss Universe Nigeria despite the controversy, and she is expected to win the competition.
South Africans have been avidly following Miss Universe Nigeria since Chidimma’s debut, and they were in stitches after viewing some behind-the-scenes footage.
The pageant sends its candidates to a camp before the competition, and a snapshot from one of the press briefings convinced Mzansi that the contest was nothing more than a low-budget production.
This came after South Africans were chastised by Nigerians for mistreating Chichi, with some in Nigeria claiming that their country was superior, and Mzansi did not forget to remind them.
