Torrential rains in northern China have caused a bridge to collapse, resulting in 12 de@ths and over 30 people missing.
The bridge in Shaanxi province was destroyed by flash floods on Friday night, causing vehicles to fall into the river below.
Rescue efforts are underway, with 31 people still missing and 17 cars and eight trucks reported to have fallen into the water.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for all-out rescue and relief efforts to find those still missing.
Additionally, violent thunderstorms in Sichuan province have caused flash flooding, with over 30 people reported missing.

The heavy rains have also caused flooding and mudslides in other parts of China, resulting in further casualties and damage.
In Sichuan province, heavy rain triggered landslides, resulting in two fatalities and seven people missing, according to Xinhua.
China is experiencing a summer of extreme weather, with heavy rains in the east and south, while the north faces successive heatwaves.
This extreme weather is consistent with the expected impacts of climate change, which is intensifying these events and making them more frequent due to rising greenhouse gas emissions.
