A renowned Zimbabwean journalist and anti-corruption activist, Hopewell Chin’ono has expressed his heartfelt cond0lences following the p@ssing of Zambia’s former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa.
Maureen Mwanawasa was the widow of President Levy Mwanawasa, who was the third president of Zambia. The late President Levy Mwanawasa served as Zambian President from January 2002 until his death in August 2008.
Via his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Hopewell Chin’ono has expressed shock over the de@th of the former First Lady, Maureen.
“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Zambia’s former First Lady and businesswoman, Maureen Mwanawasa @mwanawasaM.
My condolences to you, @Chipokota, and your entire family during this difficult time.
Zimbabwe will always be grateful for the support we got from both your parents during the most dark periods of post-colonial Zimbabwe. May they both rest in peace,” part of the statement reads.
Maureen Mwanawasa d!ed on 13th of August 2024 at the age of 61.
