Zimbabwe is in the middle of a deadly cholera outbreak which has killed hundreds according the the State’s own figures, yet this is a toilet at Zimbabwe’s biggest technical college, the Harare Polytechnic.
Instead of addressing the root cause of the cholera outbreak, the authorities are focussed on propaganda whilst the outbreak moves from city to city and now it is even engulfing the country-side.
This toilet has no running water, which is one of the main sources of cholera, it is a reflection of public ablution facilities across the country.
They have no running water, and yet the public is forced to use them regardless whilst answering the call of nature.
Public health crises like this cholera out break require a multi-faceted approach that includes improvements in sanitation infrastructure.

The State must deal with the root cause of this crisis and implement effective solutions to prevent the further spread of this medieval disease.
As I always say with irrefutable evidence, these are the direct consequences of corrupt rule which includes the looting of public funds, the plunder of the country’s natural resources and the nepotistic hiring of incompetent people.
How will cholera be dealt with when Zimbabweans are using public toilets like this with no running water at one of the most respected tertiary education institution?
