The flamboyant businessman, Wicknell Chivhayo, has pledged to reward comedians Sabhuku Vharazipi and Chairman, along with Mbuya Mai John, each with a sum of US$10,000.
This follows after the trio was featured in a skit that highlighted the contributions of the second Republic of Zimbabwe under President Emmerson Mnangagwa towards artists.
In the skit, Sabhuku Vharazipi, Chairman, and Mbuya Mai John recognized Wicknell Chivhayo’s name, acknowledging the support he had extended and the gift of a brand new car to Chief Hwenje.
According to Chivhayo, having his name mentioned alongside President Mnangagwa’s in the skit was an honor for him.
Taking to his Facebook page, Chivhayo wrote:
“This time ZVA BHADHARA…someone please tell SABHUKU VHARAZIPI NA AMAI vedu vavano actor navo avo ( I don’t know if that’s his wife) na Chairman vese kuti hanzi na SIR ndapota huyai mutore 10 thousand USD cash each next week THURSDAY nekuti ka video kenyu aka kandi nakidza. I always enjoy their clips but panoti CHIVAYO moti SECOND REPUBLIC moti ZANU PF moti E.D…You have associated me with greatness for the rest of my life… NDINOTENDA…I THANK YOU…”
A few days back, it was reported that Chief Shumba Hwenje, a praise singer of ZANU PF, received a new Toyota Hilux GD6 from businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
Hwenje is recognized for his song “ED Pfee,” which became a rallying anthem for ZANU PF ahead of the 2018 elections.Recently, he has released the cover art and tracklist for an upcoming album titled “Special Branch”.
