Zimbabwe’s first Vice President General (Rtd) Dr . Chiwenga has arrived at the Augusto C Sandino International Airport, in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua, the largest country in Central America.
He is expected to attend the 45th Sandinista Revolutionary Celebrations.
Chiwenga was received by Comrade Valdrack Jaentschke, Minister Advisor to the President for International Affairs.
Over 700 guests from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean are expected to attend the celebrations and learn more about Nicaragua.
The relations between the two countries date back to the time of the liberation struggle.
This saw Zimbabwe becoming the third African country to open diplomatic relations with Nicaragua.
Recently, Nicaragua opened an embassy in Zimbabwe, making Zimbabwe the sixth African country to host a Nicaraguan resident embassy.
