Bulawayo Mayor Senator David Coltart has denied rumors that he plans to ban Zimdancehall artist Winky D from performing at the 9th Annual Pacific Bulawayo Shutdown Show. Coltart took to social media to clarify his stance, stating he has no power or desire to prevent Winky D or any other artist from performing in the city.
“…’Uproar as Mayor David Coltart seeks to ban Winky D from Bulawayo shutdown show’ a pathetic article which disregards the facts,” Coltart wrote, dismissing the rumors as unfounded.
The debate surrounding the concert’s venue sparked heated discussions, but Coltart has made it clear that he won’t be interfering with Winky D’s performance. Winky D is set to take the stage alongside Jah Prayzah at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) on Friday.
