A heartbreaking incident occurred in Matabeleland North when a man tragically fell off the top of a moving bus, resulting in his immediate d3ath.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Trust Moyo from Inyathi in Bubi District, met with the fatal accident while aboard Dubbies Bus carrier, which was en route from Bulawayo to Muchesu in Binga.
According to police reports, the unfortunate incident took place along the Lubu-Kariangwe road as the bus was approaching Chilelema Business Centre. Trust Moyo, who was responsible for offloading passengers and luggage at various bus stops, had apparently chosen to remain on top of the bus.
It was during this time that Mr. Knowledge Moyo, the bus conductor, heard a distressing sound resembling a falling object coming from the bus’s roof. Immediately alarmed, Mr. Moyo alerted the driver, who promptly brought the bus to a halt.
Upon investigation, they discovered the lifeless body of Trust Moyo on the road, having suffered head injuries as a result of the fall. The incident was reported to ZRP Kariyangwe, and the police arrived at the scene to document the unfortunate event. The body was then transported to Binga District Mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of safety measures while travelling, urging both passengers and transport operators to exercise caution and ensure the well-being of all individuals on board.
