Hopefully CCC certainly knows what it is doing strategically in this regards, and that it has a plan for such eventualities if they occur.
My personal view was that to defeat any prospects of future recalls by Tshabangu and his rebels, the currently Recalled CCC MPs would have done well contesting as INDEPENDENTS.
There is nothing in a name when you are fighting a repressive system with captured State institutions like ZEC and the judiciary.
It is better to have your people in parliament under any name, what matters are the values that they carry in their hearts and minds.
I know that names are as emotional to some as is the right to keep them, but politics is not about emotions but strategic planning.
Many here talk about what the law might say and it’s true interpretation, but we know that when fighting a monster like ZANUPF, you don’t leave any room for it to exploit and destroy you.
ZANUPF is facilitating Tshabangu’s Recalls because it wants a Two Thirds majority, and it will not stop at anything to get that unless you make it hard for it.
Independents would have been great because nobody can claim them for a Recall, it would have allowed them to operate without a fear of being recalled.
But if the name is so important to take the gamble, let us respect CCC’s decision.
We make decisions knowing that we will live with the consequences of their outcomes.
There is a history in regards to names in regards to names, each time the Rhodesian Government banned liberation parties, they simply used a different name because not doing so was futile for their survival.
