CUT Eagles, Blades, and Flames Fly High — Headed to ZITISU After Stellar ZUSA Campaigns

The Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) has once again stamped its authority on university sports, delivering commanding performances across multiple disciplines at the ZUSA Cluster 1 and 2 Games. With victories and finals appearances in volleyball and soccer, CUT’s sports teams CUT Eagles, CUT Blades, and CUT Flames have officially qualified for the prestigious ZITISU Games.

🏐 CUT Eagles: Volleyball Royalty

At the ZUSA Cluster 2 Games hosted by the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), the CUT Eagles men’s volleyball team stole the spotlight. They cruised past the hosts UZ with a dominant 2-0 victory in the semi-finals and then faced a fierce battle against defending champions Midlands State University (MSU) in the final. In an intense match filled with energy and resilience, the Eagles came out on top 2-1, securing the gold medal and showcasing tactical brilliance and unity.
“This was a long time coming. The boys gave it everything, and beating MSU was the perfect ending,” said one of the players, Kelvin also known as Sirlubar.

Meanwhile, the CUT Eagles women’s team also soared to the final after sweeping Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) 2-0 in the semi-finals. Despite a valiant effort in the final, they lost 2-0 to the hosts UZ. Nevertheless, their strong campaign earned them a spot at ZITISU, where they will have a chance to seek redemption on a national stage.

⚽ CUT Blades & Flames: Soccer Giants

In ZUSA Cluster 1, the CUT Blades, CUT’s men’s soccer team, brought home the championship trophy after a string of impressive performances. With slick passing, rock-solid defense, and sharp finishing, the Blades were unmatched and deservedly crowned ZUSA champions, booking their ticket to ZITISU.
On the other hand, the CUT Flames, the university’s women’s soccer team, fought their way to the final in a gripping tournament run. Though they narrowly missed out on the title after being defeated in the final, the Flames still qualified for ZITISU based on their outstanding performance throughout the competition.

CUT Soars Above the Rest
This year, CUT has proven its athletic excellence across multiple clusters and sports codes. The CUT Eagles (volleyball), CUT Blades (men’s soccer), and CUT Flames (women’s soccer) will now carry the university’s flag at ZITISU, aiming to bring national glory back to Chinhoyi.
As the nation turns its eyes to ZITISU, one thing is certain: the CUT sports teams are not just participating they’re competing to conquer
