The CIO formed ZICOSU during our student movement era, hoping to channel student unions towards Zanu-PF after witnessing the growing coalescence of the student movement with the labour movement, then led by Morgan Tsvangirai and Gibson Sibanda.
ZICOSU were given airtime on Dead BC to pronounce pro-government positions, but try as they might, they never gained traction with students on any campus nationally!
It’s heartening to see students continuing to resist the regime’s attempts to hijack student politics!
