Former West Ham United head coach and manager David Moyes, has agreed to takeover the struggling Premier League club, Everton as the new head coach and manager. Recently on Thursday evening, the Toffes fired Dyche who took charge at Everton in January 2023 and kept them in the top-flight despite numerous issues.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the sports and transfer news expect, David Moyes who previously managed Everton between 2002 and 2013 has accepted to takeover the Toffes after speaking to the management and the Friedkin family. Moyes signs a two and half year contract which will expire in June 2027.
“David Moyes signs in this weekend as new Everton head coach, agreement sealed.
Contract until June 2027, as @TimesSport reports.
Moyes has accepted the project after speaking to the management and the Friedkin family,” Romano confirmed.
The Scottish manager was out of job since his departure from the Hammers in January 2023. Everton have won only three times in 19 league matches this season and are languishing in 16th place, with only one point separating them from the relegation zone.
The Toffees are battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League after winning just one of their past 11 games, with that sole success coming against fellow strugglers Wolves in December.
