Today, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, marking a historic political comeback as he becomes just the second person in history to win a nonconsecutive term in the White House.
Trump previously served as president from 2017 to 2021 and defeated Kamala Harris in November’s election.
The inauguration ceremony is set to take place inside the US Capitol Rotunda due to dangerously cold temperatures projected in the nation’s capital.

This decision means that thousands of people who had tickets to attend the event outdoors will not be able to fit into the new indoor configuration.
In light of this, Trump has encouraged his supporters to instead attend a live viewing of the event at Washington’s Capital One Arena, promising to visit them there after the inauguration.
It’s worth noting that the last presidential inauguration held indoors occurred in 1985, during President Ronald Reagan’s second term.
The upcoming ceremony signifies both a new chapter in Trump’s political journey and a shift in tradition due to extreme weather conditions.
