The Livingstone Local Court has issued advice to women on maintaining peace and harmony in their marriages, emphasizing the importance of respecting boundaries and fostering intimacy. Local Court magistrate Bismarck Bulongo urged women to avoid searching through their husbands’ phones, stating that such behavior often leads to unnecessary conflict and disrupts the peace in the household.
“Do not touch your husband’s phone; otherwise, problems in your marriage won’t end. Respecting boundaries in a marriage is essential for a peaceful and harmonious household,” Magistrate Bulongo advised.
The court’s remarks were made during a marriage reconciliation case involving Clara Lisapo and Bonaventure Wasamuno, both residents of Simoonga village. During the proceedings, Bulongo emphasized that withholding intimacy in a marriage can have damaging consequences. “A marriage cannot survive if you refuse to give your husband s3x. If you don’t, he may seek it elsewhere. Many men have girlfriends but do not flaunt them,” he explained.
Earlier in the hearing, Wasamuno raised concerns about the lack of intimacy in his marriage. He revealed that his wife frequently spends her time on YouTube or singing, leaving him feeling neglected and having to resort to coercion for physical intimacy. This, he said, has created strain in their relationship.
The court’s guidance highlights the importance of mutual respect, clear communication, and maintaining intimacy as key pillars for a successful and peaceful marriage.
