A Nigerian woman insisted that her name be pronounced correctly during her graduation ceremony in the U.S. She corrected the announcer, unable to tolerate her name being mispronounced.
Before graduation day, she posted on social media, “If they pronounce my African name incorrectly at my graduation, I won’t move until it’s said correctly. By force, by fire.”
However, during the ceremony, she pronounced her name correctly on stage, receiving applause from the audience.
