The man, Saul Shezhu, who is 27 and lives in Jinkstown, Chegutu, was arr3sted for murd3r of a colleague after a night of heavy drinking.
According to Stepmore Mutandavari, who was also friends with the victim, Nyikadzino Mataruse, they had spent the whole day drinking beer and singing songs.
Mutandavari mentioned that Nyikadzino seemed to have a bad feeling about the night.
Around 10 PM, Nyikadzino was walking alone in front of them while Shezhu and Mutandavari were walking together.
When they reached Nyikadzino’s home, Mutandavari left them, and that’s when Shezhu attacked Nyikadzino.
Shezhu used a six-inch knife to slit Nyikadzino’s throat, k!lling him instantly.

Local headman Sabhuku Kandira said that Shezhu had a history of vi0lence, including previous attempts to harm his parents and a young girl.
Kandira also mentioned that Shezhu had bribed the police to avoid getting arr3sted before.
Esteri Gasiya, the mother of the girl Shezhu tried to r@pe, criticized the police for mishandling her daughter’s case and called for Shezhu to be given a life sentence because he is a danger to the community.
Nyikadzino’s body was found the next morning by someone passing by, who then alerted the community.
Shezhu was arr3sted and is now in police custody at Norton Police Station.
