SARACO, the anti corruption board have apprehended Mirriam Kondo 55 and Silvester Nhubu 38 for forgery.
A part of the memo seen by Harare Mirror from SARACO reads:
We have apprehended two individuals, Miriam Kondo and Silvester Nhubu, for contravening Section 137 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act. The accused persons were arrested on September 30, 2024, at 1630 hours at the corner of Jaison Moyo and L. Takawira Road in Harare.
Events that led to the arrest
Miriam Kondo requested Silvester Nhubu to forge a date stamp for Peter’s Bury International School in Bulawayo. The authenticity of the school is yet to be verified. Our SARACO members witnessed the transaction and intervened, leading to the arrest and detention of the accused at ZRP Harare Central. IR number 091864 refers.
Additional Investigations:
Further investigations are being conducted by ZRP Harare Central to verify Miriam Kondo’s employment at the University of Zimbabwe and potential possession of a forged University of Zimbabwe stamp.
The accused persons are expected to appear in court soon. This arrest demonstrates SARACO’s commitment to combating corruption and ensuring accountability .
