Two Bulawayo men, Last Sibanda and Malvin Roland Nyoni, were convicted on Friday for targeting and r0bbing Honda Fit drivers of their vehicles in the city. The duo, aged 22 and 23, faced three counts of armed r0bbery in court.
According to the court proceedings, Sibanda and Nyoni carried out a series of r0bberies in Bulawayo. In one instance, they att@cked a woman who boarded their Honda Fit vehicle at the corner of Joshua Nkomo and Third Avenue.
In another case, they targeted a milling company in Bulawayo, making off with a Chub safe containing valuables.
The arrests were part of a larger operation by the police, resulting in the capture of a gang of five individuals involved in numerous armed r0bberies in Bulawayo and Victoria Falls. The police acted on received information and successfully apprehended the suspects.
The two convicted individuals, along with their accomplices, have been linked to several other r0bbery cases, which the police are continuing to investigate.
