Heartbreaking Scene of Grief
According to H-Metro, grieving mothers, stricken with sorrow, led their families to the cemetery on Friday to confront the heart-wrenching reality of their empty baby graves.
Tears flowed freely as relatives tried their best to console the inconsolable mothers and hurriedly closed the desecrated resting places.

A Disturbing Pattern Emerges
A villager, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed a disturbing pattern in recent burials where bereaved families were burying their babies during the night, stating,
“This is taboo, it’s uncalled for and the suspects must be brought to book. I had some questions on Tuesday when I spotted a family burying their baby at around 9 p.m. I could not understand the reason for doing that during the night and I nearly informed the village head about this.”

Several days after this peculiar burial, the village awoke to the shocking sight of open graves, primarily the newly dug ones.

Tears of Desperation
Theresa Mashaya, aged 43, who had laid her seven-month-old baby to rest in July, couldn’t contain her grief.
She wept bitterly as she took a shovel to close her child’s opened grave. Another anguished father, who had buried his ten-day-old baby on July 19, joined her, equally determined to protect the sanctity of his child’s final resting place.
Police Investigation Underway
The unsettling discovery prompted a visit from local law enforcement authorities. Police officers arrived at the cemetery and began recording statements from numerous villagers.
The investigation into this disturbing case of emptied baby graves is ongoing, as the community seeks answers to the mysterious and heart-wrenching events that have unfolded in Zimbiri Village.
