His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived at Kamungoma in Gutu District, where he will preside over the commissioning of the Kamungoma Liberation War Shrine.
This event honors the memory of 104 civilians and one freedom fighter k!lled during a night vigil on May 14, 1978, in Kamungoma village.
The establishment of the shrine is part of the nation’s effort to correct erroneous historical narratives and preserve the legacy of the liberation struggle.
This event attended by President Mnangagwa and his two deputies, Minister Kazembe Kazebe, ZANU PF polical commissar Dr Mike Bimha and other government officials.
